Can I use numbing cream for a tattoo?
Yes!You can get numbing cream over the counter, Emla is often the more common one. Simply clean the skin down with alcohol (sanitizer works well) once the area is dry, apply a thick layer of cream over the reserved area and cling wrap it. Apply the cream about 45mins prior to your appointment.
This is only recommended for smaller tattoos in more painful areas (knees, shine, feet, hands ect). Most numbing agents last about 45mins-1 hour.
For larger tattoos, we recommend a numbing gel, used during the tattoo process only once the pain becomes a bit more uncomfortable. This gel can only be used on “broken” skin (an area you just tattooed eg. Line work) so it is not effective as a before agent.
Can I use Numing Cream For My Piercing?
You can ;however because a piercing goes past the surface, it may help but it will not numb the entire area.
Alternatively you may spray ice water over the pierced area after the piercing. This will help with the inflammation and swelling.

Some tattoos do require a bit of white ink, we refer to these as “highlights”. The white will not remain white, it is used to lighten a certain area.
If a tattoo is done with white ink alone it may not appear visible to many and over time it will appear yellow.
In conclusion it can be done, but it is not recommended

The legal age in South Africa is 16 years with parental consent for tattoos. We do ;however recommend waiting until after high school. We very seldom do tattoos for minors, even with a parent present.
*If you are 16-18 please consider the design, placement and size. Its best to keep it discrete until after school
Can I get a sleeve completed in a week?
Yes, it can be possible, especially if you’re working with an experienced tattoo artist and planning multiple long sessions. But a full sleeve is a big project, and trying to complete everything in one week depends on:
The size and complexity of the design
Your skin’s ability to handle long sessions
How many hours you can comfortably sit
The artist’s schedule and working speed
Whether it’s a full new sleeve, a cover-up, or adding to an existing sleeve
For a detailed sleeve, several sessions over a longer period is usually more practical, particularly because different areas need time to settle before being tattooed again.
If you’re travelling to get your sleeve done, I’d recommend planning the week with flexibility rather than booking every day solidly.
Can I start my piercing journey with a hoop?
Yes! Some piercings are perfectly suited to being pierced with a hoop from the start, while others are better pierced with a labret or bar to allow for easier healing.
For certain placements, we recommend waiting until the piercing is fully healed before changing to a hoop, as the movement and shape of a ring can make healing more difficult.
