The piercing Journey

Piercings are a super fun way to express yourself. With a small pinch, and cute jewellery you've made the pinterest 'to get' list ;however it may not be that simple. Piercings are a journey and not a destination, they require time and lots of nurturing. If you fail to look after your healing piercing well, you risk the chances of rejection, infection, migration and bumps or keloid. Here are a few tips to help along the way;

1. Do not sleep on your piercing, rather invest in a traving or piercing pillow.This will help reduce any irritation to your piercing.

2. Do not swim for the first 2 weeks after getting a piercing.

3. Do not pick at your new piercing.

4. With clean hands, spray and wash your piercing twice a day.

5. Downsize your piercing jewellery to prevent any tugging or hooking.

6. Wear the right jewellery. Surgical steel, titanium or gold.

The overall healing time will depend on your diet, lifestyle and aftercare. Some piercings may take longer to heal, and thats ok
